Pete Gluszek

Come meet “The Dean” of The Bass University, Pete Gluszek! The New England Fishing & Outdoor Expo is excited to welcome professional Bass angler and “The Dean” of the Bass University, Pete Gluszek. Pete has amassed 4 professional wins and countless top 10 finishes during his prolific career and competed in the 2013 Bassmaster’s Classic.

A native of New Jersey, Gluszek honed his fishing skills at an early age among the many ponds, lakes and creeks surrounding his Franklinville home. He still vividly remembers the first time he caught a bass that he was specifically targeting, and has been “Hooked” ever since. Introduced to tournament fishing by friends while attending Rutgers University, Gluszek actually won the first tournament he ever entered and from that point on, it was a lost cause; if there was a tournament, he was fishing it.

In 1996, Gluszek left a career in engineering to turn his hobby into a career and started fishing BASS tournaments full-time, picking up a second place finish in only his second professional event on the Potomac River. That finish led him to be the tour’s highest finishing rookie, and he earned a berth in the 1997 Bassmaster Classic, the Super Bowl of bass fishing. He has since qualified for two additional Classics (1999 and 2013) and been a regular presence in the check-line at major tournaments across the country ever since.

Through tournament fishing, Gluszek also discovered his other passion, education. He began speaking at trade shows, fishing expos and events soon after he started fishing full-time. Pete’s desire to teach led him to co-create The Bass University with close friend Mike Iaconelli in 2006. The Bass University’s commitment to providing top-notch speaking talent, covering the latest techniques and trends, and focusing on the actual skills necessary to catch more and bigger fish has caused The Bass University to become one of the most important tools an aspiring angler can utilize to take their fishing to the next level.
