The New England Fishing & Outdoor Expo is pleased to welcome professional BASS and FLW Tournament Angler, Michael Iaconelli. With 7 first-place finishes and nearly 60 top-10 finishes, this iconic fishing connoisseur has reeled in more than 2 million in winnings.
Iaconelli was first introduced to fishing when he was a youngster. He’d take seasonal trips with his family to the Poconos and found himself experimenting with trout and panfish species here and there. However, it wasn’t until he caught his first largemouth bass on the annual trip at age 12 when he truly became smitten with the sport.
Since then, Iaconelli sought to learn more about fishing, even founding a bass fishing club called “Top Rod Bassmasters” after graduating high school where he’d compete with team members. He even worked in the fishing section of Dick’s Sporting Goods! Throughout the years, Iaconelli participated in dozens of tournaments, gaining victory after victory. In 2000, he made the leap to the professional ranks and began fishing the BASS Tour. Among his top titles: the 2003 Bassmaster Classic champion and the 2006 Toyota Tundra Angler of the Year.
Iaconelli now resides in Pittsgove, New Jersey with his wife and four children.
During the New England Fishing & Outdoor Expo, catch Iaconelli at the Hawg Trough demonstration, in the Bass University classroom instructing on various industry topics, or just mingling on the floor among attendees.
